Merriest of Christmases from George (and the gang)

Here’s wishing absolutely everyone out there a very merry Christmas. Whether you celebrate it or not, here’s me forcing goodwill straight down your throat!!

The past few weeks have been so busy with the holidays, and the eating, and various last-minute, year-end, in-before-the-budget-closes tasks that my buffer of George strips has dwindled down to practically nothing. Therefore, I’m going to take a little time off to recharge my batteries, take in what’s left of the holiday season, and enjoy ringing in the new year. I really think you should do the same! George will most likely be back the first Monday in January, probably making New Year’s resolutions of some sorts.

2008 was a terrific year for George.  This was the first year in the comic’s history that I went start-to-finish sticking to a three-days-a-week schedule (not counting this last week, in which I am sticking to a “three-Christmas-hams-a-week” schedule,) and because of that, more George comics were produced this year than ever before–155! That’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 hours that I’ve spent on the strip this year. I’m really pretty floored that it’s already been an entire year since George was asking Sirloin about Guitaron, and since I started drawing the strip in a new, paintbrush-centric style. Thanks to all the old fans for sticking with me, and thanks to all the new fans for…well, for even finishing reading this message. George has become a part of my life that I can never abandon…even if there are ever breaks or hiatuses, you will never see me quit George because, like a true addict, I just can’t stop doing it.
