BeaucoupKevin Reviews George

Kevin Church, writer of the comic The Rack and the man behind BeaucoupKevin.com, recently reviewed a bunch of webcomics which were tweeted to him on Twitter (naturally). Here’s what he wrote:

“It’s interesting that I read a big swath of a comic with the exact style of face that I hate and jokes that were pretty hackish without really feeling like I was wasting my time. Maybe it was the Two And A Half Men effect, where things are moving along just enough to keep you engaged even if you know there’s better out there.”

So while not exactly a glowing review, it’s nothing to complain about, either, and I appreciate the fact that Kevin took the time to read and review my strip. Plus, he enjoyed it even though he’s not a fan of (okay, hates) the style my characters are drawn in. I know not all art styles are for everybody–for instance, I’m not a big fan of manga art–so to win over someone who doesn’t exactly dig the artwork is a positive for me. Frankly, the comparison to Two And a Half Men? I’ll take it. Any show that’s been on the air for six years and still pulls in millions upon millions of viewers weekly is a success in my book.

Thanks much, George! Makes sense a guy named George would dig my artwork, no?
