Weeeiiirdooos, Pt. 3

I just upgraded from Flash/Photoshop CS3 to CS5, and I felt the same way I do whenever I make a big upgrade in my drawing/coloring tools…it feels a bit cumbersome and it’s not immediately apparent that it’s even worth upgrading, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it and grow to like it. Actually, I loved CS3 so much, I didn’t even bother upgrading to CS4, but I knew that if I didn’t upgrade to CS5, I was soon going to be yelling at kids to get the hell off my lawn.

Abundant amounts of cash can help ease up someone's creepiness. :)

  2. Bearman says:

I have C34 on laptop but elements on the one I do most of my drawing. When I use the laptop, there are some easy things that I do on elements that I can't figure out how to do (or are more cumbersome) in C34.

  3. Anton says:

Isn't it really the other way around? ;P

  4. George says:

Hmm…maybe you're right. I guess money can make people look past a person's creepiness then. A poor, creepy guy won't get anywhere. :)

  5. George says:

I must be the only so-called webcartoonist who's still using Photoshop 6. Yes, I'm a relic.

  6. John Norton says:

Probably a fair bet, George…Photoshop 6 is the first version of Photoshop I ever used (Well, maybe it was 5.5). Then I upgraded to 7 and stayed there for a long time! I think Photoshop 7 was one of the best versions they ever had!

  7. John Norton says:

Yeah, the big, heavy, powerful program is often the one that's the biggest headache to use.

  8. Denaya says:

This is why I use Paint Shop Delux. The almost elegant simplicity it offers in my endeavours. … Yeah I can't draw … I do like playing with GiMP when I'm not gaming or writing.

  9. dangermaus says:

Ah. I upgraded to Photoshop CS5 from CS3 recently as well, and I noticed one thing… instead of all out crashing CS5 will instead freeze (though it's only happened twice). But it's a heck of a lot more stable than CS3. In fact, I noticed that I can switch from one brush to another more easily in the newer version – but that might just be me.

George's finger looks a little long in the last panel…is that some 'pinocchio effect'? Hehe.

  11. John Norton says:

Paint Shop Pro was the first graphics program I ever used! I used to color my old comics with it way back in the day. I'm sure Paint Shop's come a long way since then!

  12. John Norton says:

I really hope Flash is more stable–I do all the actual line art/coloring in Flash, and sometimes after a while, it crashes and I lose some of what I was working on. I've gotten really good at saving VERY frequently…

  13. John Norton says:

George's dad does look a little like Geppetto!

  14. John Asher says:

I can't think of much that Photoshop 6 didn't do for me (even though I'm using CS3 myself). Of course I use it almost exclusively for color correcting digital photos. I am old enough to remember my Paint Shop Pro days though. Man I'm old.

  15. Whoa! I thought I was a relic. I have Photoshop 6 too and no upgrade in the horizon yet.
