This one got a big laugh from my dad, which in my book means it’s a winner. Funny thing is, I think George’s nose has gotten even bigger in recent years.

Here’s another one that was a real pain in the butt to blacken in. These days, George’s role in the strip is usually to play straight man to the antics of his idiotic friends, and Amanda’s role is to play straight woman when George’s own idiocy gets out of hand. The reversal role here with Dave and George is kind of interesting.

I just like the name of the roller coaster here. Also, what is with this? Dave is straight man to George’s wacky antics again. Something is definitely amiss in the Armstrong household.

This is one of my favorite comics from this era. I particularly like how there’s a deep gouge down the middle of the table in the background, with a high-powered futuristic laser pointed at it, a la Goldfinger.

I felt inclined to include this comment because it marks the only instance George’s dad has ever been depicted in a comic. Apparently he is like many middle-aged gentlemen; little hair on top, massive amounts elsewhere.

For what it’s worth, back in the day, this was my aunt’s favorite comic. I think she made a copy of it and posted it in her house somewhere. Also, George had a very big, old-fashioned TV with gigantic knobs and most likely humungous silver antennae jutting skyward from behind a Video Cassette Recorder.

This one is a prime candidate for a re-make. I really love how ridiculous the mind-reading hat looks.
