I just created a new Facebook George fan page, and I want you to be a fan! I previously had a fan page for myself, which I admit is a little narcissistic. Some days I would just sit and stare at my own Facebook fan page until I died and my body was turned into a flower. I regret it now, which is why I’m making up for it with the George fan page. Just click and become a fan, and get George updates and extra goodies on Facebook!

I’d like to congratulate our three belated winners of the last three months’ worth of George sketch contests! As you may well know, I used to give out one free sketch per month to a random reader who left a comment on a blog or comic strip, but I fell out of the habit a few months back and I’m doing my best to make up for it. Anyway, let’s congratulate Brett (http://www.brettskidesign.com), David (http://www.unbearablebears.com) and Denaya for each winning a free sketch of the George character of their choice!
As always, you can enter to win a free George sketch just by simply leaving a comment on a blog or comic strip each month. Posting more comments will not mean you get a better chance of winning, but by all means, don’t let that stop you from posting comment after comment about how wonderfully generous and handsome I am.

I want to apologize for not being very involved with George over the past few months, beyond the actual writing and drawing of the strip itself. Late this past summer, life suddenly got very busy and I found it hard to keep up with posting new blogs, replying to comments, Tweeting about this and other webcomics, holding my monthly George sketch giveaway, and generally promoting my strip and being involved in the webcomic community. Since then, I’ve really dropped the ball in regard to all of these things, and I feel bad about it. I was on a great roll for a while there after recovering from hernia surgery this past spring, and I let it crumble. Sometimes when you’re on a great roll like that, and you get derailed, it’s very hard to build up the motivation to get back up to speed. My punishment for these transgressions is that George readership has been slowly declining for the past few months, and I really need to turn that around, now.
To help make up for it, I’m going to be awarding a free sketch to three random readers who commented on any strip or blog entry during the months of August, September, and October (winners will be announced Wednesday). It also goes without saying that I’ll be firing up the monthly sketch giveaway again, so remember to comment on a sketch or blog post to be entered for a chance to win. I’ll be replying to comments more, Twittering more, and trying to get more involved with promoting the work of other great comic artists out there. I can’t promise that life will never get really busy again, but I can promise that if it ever does, I will not completely drop the ball like I did this time. If you can find it in your heart to forgive me, please send one dollar to “Sorry Dude,” 742 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. Or, just tell your friends about George.

George was featured today on Coyote Trax’s Webcomics Critique as the “Friday Feature.” It’s overall a very good review, and I am very appreciative. Coyote Trax enjoys the strip, sees it for what it is, offers some insight, and generally hits the nail on the head with the review. He reviews lots of webcomics, so it’s definitely worth checking out the Webcomics Critique if that’s your bag. And frankly, that should be your bag if it isn’t. Honestly.

There’s a new George Halloween wallpaper available! We’ve still got two and a half weeks until Halloween, so there’s plenty of time for you to rock this wallpaper on your computer. Right now I’ve only got it in two resolutions: 1920 x 1200 and 1600 x 1200. I will be converting it into many more sizes in the near future, but for now, I wanted to get these out there before it’s too late! I’m quite sure my readers are intelligent and attractive enough to make these wallpapers work for them, anyway!
